Articles (a, an and the) are words used before a noun.

Type of Articles (2 Types)
1. Definite Article.
2. Indefinite Article.

Definite Article
It is used to point out a particular person / thing.

Example
He had seen the monkey.

Explanation
Here money means a particular monkey.

Note
Definite article (The) can be used before singular or plural countable / uncountable noun.

Indefinite articles (a and an)
It is used to leave indefinite the person or thing spoken of.

Example
1. He is a Lawyer.
2. I have an umbrella.

Explanation
Indefinite articles “a” and “an “representing any Lawyer or umbrella.

Note
1. “a” is used before a noun that begins with a consonants sound.
2. “An” is used before a noun that begins with a vowel sound.
