Conditional Sentences
If the work done of first sentence depend on second sentence that sentence is called is conditional sentence.

Example
You work hard you will succeed in life.

The 4 Types of Conditionals
Conditional sentences have 2 clauses:
1. A condition (if...).
2. Result.
The verb tenses used in each clause depends on whether the speaker thinks the result is probable (real) or only exists in the imagination (unreal).

S. No Types Usage
1 Zero conditional used for present, real, factual situations
2 First conditional Used for future  real / factual situations
3 Second conditional used for present or future unreal imaginary situations
4 Third conditional used for past unreal, imaginary situations


Types If Clause  (Condition) Main Clause (Result)
Zero conditional If I drink coffee at night. I don’t Sleep well.
First conditional If I drink coffee at night. I won’t Sleep well.
Second conditional If I drink coffee at night. I wouldn’t Sleep well.
Third conditional If I had drink coffee at night. I wouldn’t have Slept well.
