3 Christ the Redeemer Statue (Brazil) Catholic Priest suggested to built it 1980 as a symbol of Brazilian Christianity & is considered for the "Statue of the Christ". It with open arms, a symbol of peace, was chosen. It is 98 feet tall, 26-feet tall pedestal, arms stretch 92 feet wide, 635 metric ton statue, made of soapstone and concrete, is located atop the 2,300 feet tall Corcovado mountain.
